MB 6.82 Under Linux. Updated: 11-05-2006 ---------------- General Information: MB is actually a Windows program. There is no fully-functional version for Linux yet. But you can still start the program under the Linux environment. Please note: ---------------- Required to run: - Linux (KDE) - Wine (version 20041019 and newer vesrions) - a windows emulator ---------------- Installation: 1.) Download latest program ZIP-archive file under http://www.molbiosoft.de/download.php?latest_zip=1 2.) Unpack the program file to the destination directory, from where you want to run MB Example: Start linux archiver "ARK" (if you dont know where it is: start console and type in: "ark", an extra window shall appear). 3.) If no errors occur, proceed to the next step. If there were some errors, immediately mail them to: oleg(at)molbiosoft.de ---------------- How to run MB: 1.) Open console 2.) Change to MB's main directory (where mb.exe is) Example: type in: "cd /home/user01/programs" 3.) Then start wine using following command: Type in: "wine mb.exe" or "wineconsole mb.exe" 4.) If asked for ActiveX click "Yes" (2 times) 5.) MB will be launched. 6.) If nothing happens, please write to: oleg(at)molbiosoft.de ---------------- What shall we expect not to function under linux? There are some features of MB, which somehow do not work properly under Linux - Restriction & Protein Analyses: to start the analysis press "Enter" (no buttons will be displayed on the form). Some error messages may appear, click through them to get your resutls (hold "Enter" key for awhile). Or: configure wine to ignore the errors. - Text fonts in the reports are not displayed in an appropriate way (you can open the report files from "reports" directory with other editor, like KWrite to solve this problem) - "MB Browser": not compatible ---------------- You have found another "bugs"?
